China Hospitality Synergy (CHS) is a private company owned by its board directors, head-quartered in Beijing. The Chairman & CEO of the group, the Board of Directors and the Management Team have extensive experiences from planning, opening and managing market leading golf courses, boutique resorts and spas in China and South East Asia.  CHS founded in 2009 in Beijing.

CHS is a full-service leisure company, mainly providing consultancy services but also providing management, marketing services for development of golf courses & resorts. Our experience covers city clubs, golf clubs and country clubs (both stand-alone and in premium hotels & resorts), business clubs, health spas, premium residential clubs, resorts and leisure complexes.

We have established core competence in the areas of strategic business planning, market research and feasibility studies, technical and pre-opening services, project development and redevelopment, concept development and positioning, marketing and sales – and club management.

Our Team

David Kurniawan

Founder, Chairman & CEO

In last 2 decades, David Kurniawan gained various experiences in the hospitality industries, majored in the boutique resorts. He moved to China in 2000 expanded his vision in luxury golf resorts industry. Born in Bali, David educated in a hotel management school with perfect blends of his home town which is the world’s best resort destination. He has gained a lot of experiences in forming a distinguished resort's service culture which will differentiate one to another properties he managed. He spent his gracious time with Hilton International in different countries in South East Asia and Europe, Four Seasons in Bali and General Hotels Management (GHM) prior to his decision to move to China.

He has "a mission" to open the Fuchun Resort in Hangzhou which he fell in love with. He spent almost 5 years in Hangzhou and left his General Manager's role and moved to Beijing. In Beijing, he successfully re-conseptualised an 18-hole golf course to become a China's famous Bayhood No. 9 International Golf Club. As the General Manager of the Club, and his close relationship with the British Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) has brought the PGA flag to China, the first one in Asia since the British PGA established in 1901. He respected Sandy Jones, the Chief Executive of the British PGA as the world's icon in the development of the golf game.

His personal relationship with Ted Simons the Executive Vice President of the Jack Nicklaus Academy of Golf has brought-in the brand to the TenTimes Golf Club in Qingdao which became an iconic golf academy in the region.

David formed Hospitality Synergy Group in Beijing with China Hospitality Synergy as its subsidiary company soon after he completed his mission as General Manager of the LanHai International Golf Resort in Shanghai, a Jack Nicklaus Legacy Course.

Born in 1973, native of Tai'an City, Shandong Province, Bachelor of Economics.

He started business development in Beijing after graduated from university from 1995 . Ben founded the BEIJING UNION GOLF  DEVELOPING CO., LTD, 《GOLF VACATION+LIFESTYLE》MAGAZINE, meanwhile he is the shareholder of CHINA HOSPITALITY SYNERGY. In 2011, he found a joint venture with the CYTS that is the most famous of tourism industry listed company in China. The joint venture is named C.U.GOLF and it sure will be the most powerful professional golf tourism service provider in short future.

Ben Gao is not only a more than 10 years veteran of golf or real golf traveler. He keens to know about different histories 、cultures、gourmets and wine, what's more all of the top 100 golf courses are his destination. Now, Ben is traveling throughout the five continents. He has been to more than 100 famous courses of the world ,include the Pebble beach links 、St. Andrew's old course links、Carnoustie、Ballybunion、The K club、 the Royal county down、 Valderrama、Nine bridges and so on.

The 《GOLF VACATION+LIFESTYLE》MAGAZINE founded by Ben is currently the largest circulation and most authoritative golf tour magazine in China.

Alfie Lin is famous for his floral work designing for Hangzhou Fuchun Resort. The floral designer’s concept concentrates on minimalism, elegance, pure and fresh. Based on his floral aesthetics, Alfie founded his own brand “CNFlower” in 1998 and has since established a living attitude which emphasizing human feelings towards nature. The name “CN” originates from a Xinjiang girl’s name “Clear-Nule”, meaning “the warm sunlight”. To him, flower not merely provided a visually sense of beauty, but delivered a profound emotion. This highly soul-valued aesthetics characteristic of pursuing putting pure and fresh floriculture into a lifestyle fashion not only wins him a good reputation in the market, also established a highly-respect position in the field.

25 years ago in South Africa is where Chris started his journey in the hospitality & golf industry, he has gained various experiences worldwide
on the various missions he has accomplished .

His professional golf career started at age 19 in wild life resort Hans Merensky Country Club & Lodge resort-home of the African big 5 and quickly saw him developing internationally. He has built a worldwide name for himself through his developments in a number of countries such as Scotland, England, Germany, Spain, Thailand, America and Hong Kong.

As a teaching professional, Chris gained his experiences in Scotland St Andrews Links “Home of Golf” and Scotscraig Golf Club, “6th oldest private members club in the world”. His experience in St. Mellion International Resort which is Jack Nicklaus’ first design outside of America. He started his relationship with Jack Nicklaus,several years later, he become the Director of Instruction of Jack Nicklaus Academy in China.

His journey in Asia began when he was brought to China in early 2007 .He started in Beijing Bayhood No.9, an exclusive private club, exclusively developed the PGA Branded Academy of Golf in China. Also he has been actively developing golf at various locations around the country, such as Palm Island Resort, etc.

He majors in advanced instruction, academy design & development, technology supports, golf professional training, golf course maintenance and golf operation management. He has developed boutique resorts, international country clubs, exclusive members clubs as well as a focus on public courses over the span of his career.

His focus in his career has spread over all levels as he believes this truly develops the golf industry and accommodates many different level of golfers

He does not only focus on golf but also on areas related to the hospitality industry including retail, food & beverages, golf services, spa facilities, hotels and event management.

He is also qualified in sports psychology, hotel management & catering, strength & conditioning fitness training  and PGA Professional.

His quality and professional level has been stamped around the world as he has developed facilities for British PGA Branded Academy and The Director of Instruction for Jack Nicklaus Academy of Golf in China
